A group of students are elected to the Student Leadership Council (SLC) at Carine Senior High School each year. This includes representatives from each year group with a larger group of Year 12 student prefects. The students represent their year group and the wider school community and are involved in a number of important activities that involve the following aspects:
- Positive promotion of Carine Senior High School
- Representation at meetings
- Organisation and assistance at school events
- Commitment to community service activities
Students submit nominations to form part of the Student Leadership Council and Year 12 Head Prefects. Selection for the SLC includes a written nomination, vote and interview process. Nominating for Head Prefect includes a speech to peers and school leaders at the annual Prefects’ Dinner. Successful students are announced at the annual Mega Life Week Whole School Assembly in Week 8 of Term 4. Year 7-11 representatives are elected during Term 1 each year.
